Advanced Networking Options


This section contains information describing how to use the Oracle Net8 Assistant to configure Advanced Networking Options with Net8. Oracle Advanced Networking Option enables network data encryption and checksumming; enhanced authentication services including single sign-on; and Distributed Computing Environment (DCE) Integration support.

Configuring Advanced Networking Options

To configure Net8 to use Advanced Networking Options:

  1. Select Advanced Networking Options from the Profile pull down menu.

  2. From the Authentication tab panel, click on an authentication service from the list of Available Services.

  3. Use the < and > arrows to move the selected authentication service to and from the list of Selected Services.

  4. Use the Demote button to change the order of authentication services.

If you selected one of the following authentication services, you will need to configure additional parameters:

Note: SecurID requires no further configuration.
