Configuring Prespawned Servers

The listener allows you to specify characteristics for how prespawned dedicated servers will behave.

Click on one of the following to learn more about:

Specifying the Number of Dedicated Servers Started

The listener will start and maintain a specified number of servers on a per protocol basis. These processes will then wait indefinitely for an incoming connection request.

Specify the number of prespawned servers that a listener will start and maintain by clicking on the up or down arrow for each protocol.

Specifying a Timeout Value

After a prespawned dedicated server process has been used, it will wait a specified amount of time for the next connection request.

To specify the time in minutes that an inactive prespawned dedicated server process will wait for the next connection request, click on the up or down arrow to adjust the number for each protocol. This value should be greater than zero.

Specifying Maximum Prespawned Servers

Enter a value in the Maximum Prespawned Servers text field to set a maximum limit to the number of prespawned servers that a listener will create. This number should be at least as many as the sum of all prespawned servers specified for all protocols.
